Post-Auction Review: Spring Asian Decorative Art
[ASHBURN, VA March 23, 2020] Oakridge is pleased to share the results of its latest online sale for the Spring Asian Decorative Arts, held on March 21, 2020. Thanks to the hard work of our staff and the commitment of our clients, we were able to successfully transform this sale into an online-only auction, with the inclusion of phone and absentee bidding.
Among the high-sellers in this auction were Lot 158, a Chinese Red Glazed Vase with Yongzheng Mark, which sold at a hammer price of $95,000, and Lot 41, a Chinese White Jade Lidded Vase, 18th-19th century, which realized a hammer price of $27,500. Closely tied in third and fourth place were Lot 247 and Lot 30, a Set of 4 Famille Rose Plaques by Duan Luan and a Silver Box with Chinese Jade Plaques, which sold at $20,000 and $19,000 hammer price, respectively.
We would like to thank our bidders for adapting their participation in our auction to a purely virtual atmosphere and look forward to rounding out our online presence further in the coming weeks. Our thanks also go out to our esteemed auctioneer, Mr. Clark Peacock of Peacock Productions, for his role in making our auction a success.
As art collectors and gallerists continue to adapt to the exigencies of social-distancing and quarantine, we are glad to be able to demonstrate our continued commitment to bringing our clients high-quality auctions. We wish all our clients continued good health and, as ever, good luck in their bidding!
